I got an email from Evernote today, that got me thinking. . .   its time to change up passwords.  The email from Evernote was letting me know that my Adobe Account had been compromised, and that even though Evernote and Adobe have nothing to do with each other, they realize that most people are lazy and stupid and use the same password in a lot of places.  While I know this is an awful Idea I often do it because it saves time and trouble (or does it cause trouble), I'm probably better than most because I use Lastpass, a great password vault. While most of my critical accounts Bank, Amazon, Apple, email, website, do have different passwords I still have a lot of accounts with a standard password.  its going to be a pain to change passwords and have to look them up, but in the long run its probably worth making the changes so I don't get gamed. I've pasted the text form the email below:

There were published reports recently of a security breach at Adobe that may have exposed private information, including Adobe passwords, email addresses and passwords hints of millions of users. The list of compromised Adobe accounts has been uploaded to the web. We compared this list to our user email addresses and found that the email address you used to register for an Evernote account is on the list of exposed Adobe accounts.

Evernote has not been compromised and is not connected to this incident, but if you used the same password for Adobe and Evernote, then you should change your Evernote password now.

Here are some additional tips for keeping your information in Evernote, and other websites, safe:

•Avoid using simple passwords based on dictionary words
•Never use the same password on multiple sites or services
•Never click on ‘reset password’ requests in emails — instead go directly to the service
